I'm new on the list. Been off the road for 15 yrs. since my Motoguzzi bit the dust. Had several other bikes, including Sportster, BSA, Norton, Honda, etc.; but have been fascinated with the Savage since it 1st came out in '86. Looks like I'll finally get one in a couple months!
My question is: what top cruising speed is comfortable for the 5-speed thumper? This is going to be my main (only, for awhile) means of transportation; so, I'll be doing every kind of riding. Not worried about it being highway-worthy, since my old Honda 305 Supwerhawk sufficed. Also, not worried about downgrading from bigger bikes, since I always wanted a thumper!
Got some real customizing in mind, so I'll post the pics when it happens. I think the Savage is a BEAUTIFUL stock bike; but, when I'm finished....!
This is a great forum; I was a little surprised to find it, but very glad!
